The Office of Research has streamlined processes to get your study up and running quickly, and keep you informed along every step from start to completion. Specifically, we offer the following:

- IRB start-up questions
- Assistance with writing a protocol, or protocol templates for a retrospective or prospective study
- Connection with potential academic and industry collaborators
- Arrangement of visits with potential partners
- Assistance in identifying funding opportunities for your research
- Assistance with study oversight, protocol and financial management of your research

Human Research Protections Program
The Office oversees a robust Human Research Protections Program built around the St. David’s HealthCare Institutional Review Board (IRB) to ensure protection of human research subjects. Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and clinical research training are available for patient safety and research staff credentialing. Research quality programs ensure research activities meet the highest ethical and scientific principles. Learn more here.

The Office of Research reviews all grants to assist researchers with overhead rates, allocations for hospital staffing, and related expenses including Facilities & Administrative (F&A) Costs. F&A Costs include building and facility costs, utilities, and information technology infrastructure as well as department and central administrative costs associated with managing externally funded projects.
